No different than Trudeau, as anyone that reads Michael Geist has seen. Canadians wanted it clearly by voting L again.
As opposed to what, letting Poilevre win and do far worse? We basically elected Kamala Harris rather than Trump. Is Carney great? No. Will his damage be easier to undo than Poilievre's? Hell yes.
A vote for Carney was largely a vote against Poilievre. There were clear indications of that being the case, to the point where the Liberals fielded a candidate whose biggest draw was essentially, "I'm not Pierre." And if it was clear enough to them, maybe the CPC should have taken a cue and fielded their own "I'm not Pierre."
Canadians voted for someone who they thought was going to stand up to Trump, and they were bamboozled.
You think Poilievre would have done a better job of standing up to Trump?
Oh absolutely not, but it still stings. Dude tricked all of Canada into thinking he had a semblance of a backbone. At least we would've seen it coming with PP.
And people voted for Trump because "at least you know what you're getting with him."
Point taken
Ew! No! 🤮
The entire cabinet was identical. Even Sean Fraser the worst immigration and housing minister came back and was reelected.
Do you honestly think it's realistic for anyone to actually stand up to Trump? Trump is unpredictable and will basically just do whatever he feels like, regardless.
Yes, not in an "oppose whatever he's doing" way, but a "that doesn't work for us!" way. But no, Capitulation Carney is earning the name.
There is only one thing more repulsive than the Ls and that's the Cs.
