They are called transfem feet and transmasc feet. The conversions to Standard Burger Units (sbu) are as follows:

1 foot (transfem) = 1.1 foot (sbu)

1 foot (sbu) = 1.1 foot (transmasc)

If you're a transfem who would be 6' (sbu), you are now 5'5" (tf). If you're transmasc and would be 5'5" (sbu), you are now 6' (tm).

These new units could help marginally with height dysphoria, and the only tradeoff is being extremely confusing.

Thank you and you're welcome.

Americans will use literally anything except metric units

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 16 points 1 year ago

I am approximately 3/16 standard schoolbus length tall

and the only tradeoff is being extremely confusing.

Not even a tradeoff, it's already confusing if we're using feet and inches.

Just use Baker's feet. 13 inches.

[–] EstraDoll@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i don't think i could tell someone with a straight face that i'm 4'12"

[–] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

That does sound very funny.

Switch to metric and the 6 foot stuff will be dead in a generation

[–] SwitchyWitchyandBitchy@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Nah 190cm will be the new meta.

respectfully admires in 1.95cm transfem

fun fact: I’m pretty sure I’m closer to 196cm now, thanks to HRT’s effects on my back muscles effectively rearranging my pelvis and spine a bit.

That's a good point I should re-measure myself. But I haven't been on hrt that long so I'm not expecting a big change yet.

I wonder if 160cm (and below) will be the new meta actually, as climate change intensifies

so funny story, I'm 183cm tall, which is 6 ft in burger-units, and I've ran into a few AFAB ladies who are taller than me and it always causes this funny tingle in my belly crush

[–] bunnygirl@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

can I use the transmasc units for my self if I'm transfem

Consider:

Height ~(transfemme,~ ~second_puberty_positive)~ = Height ~(AMAB)~ - |Average regional male height - average regional female height|

Height ~(transmaculine,~ ~second_puberty_positive)~ = Height ~(AFAB)~ + |Average regional male height - average regional female height|

This has the benefit of keeping relative heights. If you tall you're still tall.

[–] bubbalu@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The transfemme height don't work. There is no positive term.

[–] machiabelly@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

height is the positive term I think

[–] Hexagons@hexbear.net 4 points 1 year ago

Oh hell yeah! Now I'm 5'5"(tm)! I'm so tall!
