One hour of a David Pakman hosted debated.....yeaah, I'm not watching that.

There has to be other channels that have posted this so we don't have to give Pac Man views

Always use frontends like invidious, piped, or others. Then you won't ever have to worry about giving views to channels you don't like or dealing with youtube and its ads. Also you will have increased privacy.

In this case, piped: https://piped.yt/watch?v=div2SXe1NBA

invidious: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=div2SXe1NBA

edit: HexReplyBot beat me to it with the alternative links.

I'm not watching an hour of Wu. Send the highlights, comrade xi

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago

I can’t even imagine what she could say for an hour…

I just found Claudia de la Cruz's presidential campaign site, for those interested:

[–] CarbonConscious@hexbear.net 22 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Ok she seems awesome, and I've heard the PSL endorsed by at least a few Marxists I trust, but what do yall think about them and their platform? Any weird gotchas in there or history of grossness from her or the organization?

[–] usa_suxxx@hexbear.net 18 points 11 months ago (1 children)

COVID. They put up a campaign video on it and they had to take it down. It heavily downplayed the usefulness of masking

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 14 points 11 months ago (2 children)

So just got some greyzone brainworms

[–] usa_suxxx@hexbear.net 13 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Sorta, no where near as reactionary. I think on Karina's and Claudia's part it seems more cowardly than genuinely anti mask.

I believe some northeast chapters have had SA cover up accusations levied against them, but I had my own not great experience with my local branch in the Midwest. Nowhere near anything like that, just more of a "this branch needs to figure out what they're doing, and they're actively leading me on and wasting my time" sorta thing.

That said, I've voted for them in the past, and if they're on the ballot, they'll get my vote. I just dont work with them locally anymore.

I only know of one case in the philly branch, and like from what I heard, it was an understandably messy situation, but that seems more like a problem in any type of organization, not specific to the PSL. It seems to me like people conflate the branch/national not airing dirty laundry in public with them doing some kind of nefarious cover up.

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 9 points 11 months ago

I don't know the details, but you do make a good point.

~~They're trots so don't ask em about AES but~~ if they're on your ballot it's a virtual guarantee they're your best option.

[–] nala@hexbear.net 13 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (2 children)

PSL are not trots. PSL supports Cuba, Vietnam, China and the historical USSR.
PSL did branch from a trot organization, which might be why you think this. This is because most surviving leftist organizations in America post WW2 redscare were trot organizations.

PSL are Marcyites, who are Trots that accidentally stumbled into being MLs.

[–] jack@hexbear.net 9 points 11 months ago

That's historically accurate but doesn't in any way describe the politics or operation of the party today. We are straight up MLs who have very intentionally shed that trot shit a long time ago.

[–] combat_brandonism@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Ah thanks for that. I knew they descended from a trot org and a member I know had a pretty disgusting pro-NATO stance on something so I just assumed.

[–] jack@hexbear.net 8 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

If a member of PSL was pro-NATO they are contradicting a fundamental, non-negotiable part of the party line and should be spoken to by local leadership

[–] combat_brandonism@hexbear.net 3 points 11 months ago

ah now I remember! they were both-sidesing balkanization, placing an emphasis on the bosnian genocide

[–] jack@hexbear.net 11 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

PSL published a book last year about why China is good and sent a delegation to meet with Diaz-Canal in Cuba last month

[–] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 13 points 11 months ago

MY PRESIDENT

[–] usa_suxxx@hexbear.net 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Her COVID stance sucks and is borderline anti mask

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Still the only candidate worth supporting.

[–] usa_suxxx@hexbear.net 4 points 11 months ago

Unfortunately

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 33 points 11 months ago

"progressive civil war"

Lmao wtf is this shit

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 23 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Mr. The 2019 coup in Bolivia wasn’t a coup.

I’ll pass

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Mr. The 2019 coup in Bolivia wasn’t a coup.

Who's that?

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 16 points 11 months ago

David Pakman, unless im misreading your question.

@2:03 Wu: I got into the progressive movement over a decade ago

Jesus christ. This pisses me off because this person has done nothing but shit all over everything and hasn't even been in this movement for very long. Like, I think I am only a little younger than Wu and I have been kicking around since 2004.

Like, I'm not trying to gatekeep here. It's just that this person smells like a grifter to me.

@2:27

Charges of the left being anti-semetic, man fuck off.

5:00 Konst talking about bots

5:30 Konst is mad about people calling her NATO

6:15 Wu jumps in and agrees that Konst was treated unfairly by people online.

Ugh. Kill me

7:40

okay finally De La Cruz gets a chance to talk and finally talks some sense about how the Democratic party is the one who silences leftists and progressives. Excellent stuff.

12:17 Wu basically accuses the anti-zionist stances as being a smokescreen, or a way to hide their anti-semitism

honestly I think I'm just going to skip the parts where Konst or Wu talk and just focus on De La Cruz

[–] Vncredleader@hexbear.net 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Wait Nomiki "bombing Libya is a good idea" Konst?

[–] footfaults@hexbear.net 2 points 11 months ago

I didn't know who she was but why am I not surprised

[–] HexReplyBot@hexbear.net 7 points 11 months ago
