Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

This is the part where they convince you that Elon was the problem, not Trump.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 40 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's in the final stages of Rudy Giuliani. Next will be some kind of financial meltdown.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Oh please please hold a press conference at four seasons...

[–] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Doge means it's 3 seasons now.

Which is why it's so interesting Katie Miller joined him to do pr or whatever, while her husband is still on Trump's coattails

I mean was it planned for Elon to be the fall guy from the start or is this a continuation of the messy drama from Trump's first presidency?

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Neither. The point of this kind of chaos is that it's exhausting and demoralizing to keep up with for the opponents of a fascist, while the fascist's supporters are literally too stupid and misinformed to even know it's happening.

Trump is an idiot, but this is his one actual skill, and he's better at it than anyone I've ever seen.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 9 points 1 week ago

I was reading an article on MSN about how expensive divorce is, and the comments from the manosphere were extremely exhausting.

[–] rocket_dragon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Fascism doesn't allow for two strong men, and both Musk and Trump think they are the next Fuhrer. One of them was always going to fall. Right at the end of the election Musk was in a dominating position, he was called the shadow king, and Trump the vice president.

Musk flubbed everything when he overreached with that Nazi salute. He was ready to claim his Fuhrer throne but he just tanked his company profits, and then cried about it.

Trump at least consistently grifts the right wing crowd, Musk did the most awful rebrand in history from Tony Stark-like futurist to Dark MAGA weird cringe Nazi.

I mean, I think its just bad theater.

This is straight out of a pro-wrestling playbook: Heel (professional wrestling)

[–] wise_pancake@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago

The role of a heel is to get 'heat,' which means spurring the crowd to obstreperous hatred, and generally involves cheating and any other manner of socially unacceptable behavior.

Obstreperous ob•strep•er•ous adjective noisy and difficult to control: the boy is cocky and obstreperous.

TIL a new word, from wrestling of all things!

[–] akilou@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago

Trump hired Elon. He's still the problem.

[–] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 98 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Hell, even I knew he was high as a fucking kite most of the time. It's obvious from watching him. He has serious drug abuse problems.

[–] mwguy 9 points 1 week ago

Wasn't he openly bragging about regular use of Ketamine a few years ago?

I thought him (and the entire SV "tech bro" scene for that matter) being in drugs was an open secret?

It was known. You were just too cowardly to report on it

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 65 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Elon is getting the media to downplay his naziism by letting everybody know that the drugs made him do it. 30 days in rehab and BOOM those chiseled trucks will start selling again.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 31 points 1 week ago (2 children)

those chiseled trucks will start selling again

No one's buying those things ever. Maybe if dumb emerald boy managed to somehow recover his image from being a nazi the cars would sell again. But the trucks fucking suck shit on literally every metric. He produced the Homer and he's gonna tank the company with it.

[–] Pnut@lemm.ee 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I live in rural Canada. It's truck country. Like, every second vehicle. No one here would have been caught dead in a cyber truck BEFORE his shenanigans. I remember showing my family the concept photos and they reacted, poorly. There is no fucking way those sales go up.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm 100% certain that people who actually use trucks for their intended purpose were not the target demographic -- it was rich kids who wanted a cool tech toy, while also playing dressup with the "labourer" aesthetic.

I'm not sure why they haven't started stripping these things for parts yet. I can't imagine anyone at the company expects to move the current stock

Oh look, it's the rats fleeing a sinking ship.

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

More like "Elong outlived his meger usefulness and Trump booted him like he always meant to." Trump has long disliked Elonga, and as soon as Elongat showed any signs of acting independently, he was doomed. He was kicked out for the same reason McCarthy was replaced by a nobody like Johnson, the same reason a weakling like Pence was needed for VP. There's just no room on it for anybody with independent power; only the king can sail.

The ship is far from sinking, and not recognizing that we're stuck with Trump until he dies is wishful thinking.

[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 9 points 1 week ago

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 39 points 1 week ago

Maybe to people who had their eyes closed lmao. Jokes about him and K and all sorts of shit has been spiraling for what, a few years now?

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 28 points 1 week ago

Maybe DOGE should focus more on DUI recruitments in the government

[–] rhvg@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He’s not that evil, he just took too many drugs.

Well nice try whitewashing

[–] IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Anybody who's seen that kind of thing in real life already knew that he was an addict years ago.

[–] satanmat@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The actual FUCK?!!?!!?

Why is this shit not reported DURING the election!??!

--oh right, access and $$$ Assholes.

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

He is a drug addled clown, so the idea that anything he does is serious is unexpected.

[–] goldteeth@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 week ago

Man, that "was" really got my hopes up for a minute.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemm.ee 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

He can afford health care like you and I have never can, nor will we. His high priced doctors will keep him going past 100.

[–] Windex007@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Tough to say. He'll need never livers and kidneys no matter how good the intermediate care is. Not saying buying a healthy young person for spare parts isn't beyond him.

You'll know he's grokked how badly he's fucked his body once he starts up an organ printing/regeneration company. Which I guarantee he will, assuming by his calculation he figures out the reality of his situation in time. If he finds out late...? A bunch of Ugrher people are going to be getting blood tests and one of them is going to disappear along with any records they ever existed at all.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 1 week ago

This is the man going around using his own child as a human shield. He might intend to harvest organs from his own children. Somehow a new low, despite also selectively making sure all his children are AMAB.

Didn't work out for Michael Jackson and Prince. Eventually it'll spiral out of control.

So Trump already knew he was a drug addict, and gave him the keys to our critical infrastructure.

You know once an elected official violates their oath of office, they no longer hold it...

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Which is why Elon was never an official government employee and held no office.
