Me when checkout is at 12:00
Dam, where you going that has 12 checkouts? I see mostly 11 with some being 10.
You can ask for a rock star check out time. They'll usually giggle and say sure, or ask whats that? You tell them, they giggle, and say sure.
Yes, def this.
I trust housekeeping just walks in, sees me sleeping, gently smooch me on the forehead & quietly leave the room.
Paid for the whole room gonna use the whole room
Free breakfast ends at 10, but I'll be damned if I dont eat it and go straight back to bed.
I swear it's the blackout curtains. I'll draw them tight on the first night, then have a surprise in the morning if I didn't set my alarm.
Nailed it
Hotels be like: yes 06:00-07:30 is the time most people eat, let's have breakfast then
That's the thing I hate the most about free hotel breakfast: by the time normal people get up, they've already shut it down for the day. I swear they do it on purpose to save money.
Just how late do you wake up?
I often stay at hotels for work, and by 8AM I'm leaving so I can be wherever I need to be at by 9, so yeah, breakfast needs to be around 7h30.
Even at home this is a usual schedule, since commuting is a pain.
By 10AM at the latest probably most places also need to wrap up service so they can clear up and prepare to serve lunches in a couple of hours.
It's not that unreasonable...
At home that's the schedule because I have to get to work. It's not a choice. But on vacation I'm not going to force myself to get up at 6 or 7. Certainly not if I'm out till 4, which is something that happens on occasion (less nowadays, but still).
And why would you wake up at 6 or 7? There are zero hotels that end breakfast service at that time, that's just a bullshit argument.
What I'm saying is that they need to start early to accommodate other people staying there, and that at some point they need to start lunch, so if you wake up at 11 that's perfectly reasonable, just don't expect the world to hold for your lordship to come back to the land of the living.
Also, if you get up at 11, you could just go get lunch.
I wake up naturally around 8:30, typically don’t eat until about 10, breakfast should be served until 11 considering brunch is from 11-2 most places
Me who wakes up for work at 4am but doesn't eat anything till 11am.
Many guests are actually there for work. If breakfast opens at 7, that's a little late for my liking. I gotta finish and drive over to the client and start timely.
Even if they aren't there for work they're there for something, I can't really think of any times I slept in a hotel room and didn't have an early morning.
... because you want to or because breakfast ends before you normally get up?
To be fair. At home I ain’t got shit to do. On vacation, there’s always something to do…even rushing to the pool/beach to do more nothing.
This is the way, I retired at 35 and am now 59. I don't have enough hours on the day to do all the stuff I want to do. I start between 7-10am though.
In a lot of hotels people in other rooms start making noise around that time anyway, so you might as well get up and enjoy a big breakfast that you dont have to prepare yourself
Also: you paid for that shit, damn well gonna eat it while its out there.
If I am on vacation I miss about 95% of all breakfasts in Hotels. They are too early.
And if it is a free breakfast it usually is garbage anyways.
There are exceptions but they are very rare.
I just back from vacation, stayed at a hotel that had free breakfast from 6-9. I was in that hotel for a full week, didn't make it to breakfast once. Felt like a waste of money, waking up at noon and walking to a breakfast place nearby, but I'd rather pay for a meal than wake up early so 🤷♂️
People sleeping in uncovered blankets and pillows triggers me so hard, why do people do that?
Uncovered blankets?
Nude blankets
Stupid sexy blankets that are wearing nothing at all!!
Hot single blankets in your area!
Basically. Don't actually know what the right word is for which part of the bedding, so I went for that. 😅
Duvet cover?
I think they're talking about the duvet
You put a blanket on your blanket?
I think its the fact that you dont have to prepare the food. You wake up, throw some shit on and just fuck off to eat for an hour straight because they have all the food you would ever want.
A change in environment often energizes people.
That and you pay good money to go on vacation. Why would you waste it sleeping, which you can do anywhere?
but you can't do it anywhere. you have work, responsibilities. the whole point of vacation is to take a break.
Absolutely not the case for me personally. If it were I'd just stay home and save the money then.
The energy:
Not if I'm by myself in the hotel/trip.
I/someone paid for the bed & I'm gonna use it.
They'll still stop serving breakfast at 9 sharp and you'll be hungry until lunch. 🙁
Nah, I hate breakfast. Give me that extra sleep anyway. It's not like they are very good either.
Anyone up at that time on holiday wears socks with crocs.
f*ck morning people
f*ck morning, people
f*ck, morning people
...the last thing i want is to interact with another living soul before 11.30, preferably not before 13.30: i wish they were dead, or at least not a part of the world i live in...
You’re spiritually a morning person, just in another time zone.
Spot on. I love being almost alone with my breakfast, tons of coffee and my book.
