Maybe I’m just too picky, but if the actor isn’t “my type” or I’m not attracted to him, I won’t enjoy the video. I have favorite actors (Jmac, Tommy Pistol, Ken Matsumoto, Charles Dera, Tyler Nixon, etc.), and a lot of the time I specifically look for videos with them instead of something new or random.

I’m curious what it’s like for you.

The women have to have an attractive face. Face>Body. I don't really care for porn with the face hidden but if I can imagine her having a nice face then it could work.

Weird/unattractive guys in a video kill it. Rather just be a "normal" guy that I don't really pay attention to.

I'll be honest, I watch some trans porn sometimes because I really don't care where the dick is attached too. As long as she has a pretty face thats what matters. In a way seeing her pleasure herself with something that I can relate to is much more enjoyable than watching a solo pussy performance (probably my least favorite porn, she would have to have an absolutely beautiful face). I'm imagining any dick I see in porn as my own.

I'm picky too and 90% of my porn experience everytime is searching for "the perfect video". Guess it's like foreplay. I won't generally watch a video again unless I stumble upon it again. I do have some woman that fit my ideal dream girl look and will sometimes search for just them. But I do really enjoy the hunt lol.

Some put out consistently better performances in genres I enjoy.

Yes, people tend to watch porn of people they find attractive ... kind of the point.

[–] violet08@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago (3 children)

True. That’s not what I meant. Some people just watch it for the action or the attractive bodies, without really caring who the performers are.

Yeah. But it has to have a good climax.

[–] Luminous5481@anarchist.nexus 7 points 1 day ago

I like porn where the story really cums together

Certainly. Some are just hotter or to my tastes and make it hotter for me. I like seeing some women pounded over others. Even the guy for me effects it as guys that are to dissimilar from me or act in ways im not good with kinda ruin it. Like beefy guys doing the face slapping, ugh.

[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

I watch it because I need to know if stepsister finally gets unstuck from the washing machine.

I watch it mainly for the sexual acts preformed not caring who it is. That being said actresses usually have a niche and if I like one scene it's likely that she has done similar stuff.

I don't care who they are or what their names are.

I prefer genuine amateur stuff, couple with a camcorder uploading stuff for the hell of it, kind of thing. I don't like commercial porn at all, people getting exploited, hooked on drugs, abused, all that shit, plus it's almost always over-produced crap. I also (as a guy) prefer stuff made for women that focuses on the woman's pleasure and feelings rather than just being a limp rag for the man's amusement. That kind of thing doesn't interest me at all.

[–] new_world_odor@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes and no. I like certain stars, not because of how they look though, it's because of how they act. Mike Adriano, Bryan Gozzling, Alex Adams because of how they handle the girls on camera, various girls because of their enthusiasm or just the way they act. But I don't limit myself to them, I look for plenty of random shit. I just know if one of my faves are in it, it's probably going to be a good time.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

Never heard of 'Bryan Gozzling' and just goddamnit, now that is a pornstar name, ahahah!

[–] sneakypersimmon@lemmy.today 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, but only because I’m trying to be more ethical about my porn consumption. I prefer to pay for videos directly from the actress and have found some great creators out there.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

....

I hate how much sense this makes.

I'm stuck though. If you're following and paying specific people, doesn't that cross some fidelity boundary?

[–] sneakypersimmon@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (19 children)

Not within my relationship, no. We talked about our boundaries and we’re both ok with the other having onlyfans accounts and such.

But we also are monogamish - we regularly invite thirds into our sex life and are more open than a strictly monogamous couple would be.

No. I ideally don't even see their faces. I'm not getting to know a person, I'm just looking for some visual stimulation.

[–] ghen@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

I'm a generalist. The only reason I'd try to find a specific woman is if I find the one rare person that is either good at acting or just really enjoys themself at work.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Not one bit. In fact, if I am even watching live action porn instead of looking at drawings, I prefer homemade shit and not professionally produced porn.

The only two porn stars I even recognize are because of memes and jokes (Ron Jeremy and Johnny Sins).

[–] psion1369@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Sometimes, if the actor is someone who films specific kinks I like, but otherwise not really.

[–] Vespair@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

I search by name and follow a few "stars," personally.

[–] Mim@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

I only care if I am looking for a video by a certain person. Because I like how they look and/or sound.
But most of the time I don't care who is in the video.

[–] j4k3@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I find there is more nuance in the camera, framing, and perspective view. Some focus on male gratification, possession, and penetration. I find that uninteresting. There are far fewer that focus on the nuances of female sexual experiences. Then there are far fewer still that understand and capture the art of human form. Like I roll my eyes any time I see a woman with her legs up and back. Even most skinny rectangle body type women have wide hips that are unflattering in the position. Sure some people don't mind or are even into that, but in strictly speaking art terms, like drawing and painting proportions, that is unflattering and not artful at all. I most appreciate when someone frames shots that speak to the subtle psychology of the human form. There is a very real and secret magic hidden in the human form and viewer's mind. Certain perspectives conjure emotions and behaviors outside of one's awareness. What is it exactly that seeing is motivating? Why those shapes? What is it about that mixture of the symmetrical and asymmetrical parts that conjures a primal response. What triggers imagination and wanton lust? What did they intend to focus attention upon, why, would you? What other aspects of self awareness are present? What are their motivations? Where are they? Who is paying for this shoot, why? Is a camera here to avoid issues with some rich prick trafficking? Is this a thinly veiled cuck to the world from the rich? Am I watching nothing more than the bottom of some dude's junk? Who let hamburger meat hair legs in front of a lens? Has she ever seen herself in a mirror like this? How smart is she likely to be based on traits of self awareness and implied complexity?

That is some of what I am thinking about. I'm just curious in lots of spaces. Recently I have been modeling mesh forms in CAD. So I'm in that artist's mindset. Mostly thinking about shapes and places that motivate touch on a level outside of typical human awareness.

I get where you're coming from. For me, once I'm past/over the initial titillating shock of the scene or actors at hand, my mind turns to all the subtle things going on in the frame. After repeated watches, the things that seem to matter most? Authenticity. Those little fleeting moments when people drop their guard, stop acting, and really just enjoy themselves. A look, a touch, a lunging mouth, an orgasmic cry that is too real to fake... those moments that bring something real crashing through the fourth wall? Yeah. Absolutely.

Ok. You just sold me your pitch. If you are making porn reviews, analysis videos, or if you curate galleries somewhere, please let me know. If you aren't, then maybe you should consider doing it.

[–] Chippys_mittens@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I definitely have types I avoid but that's a much smaller list than types I like. For me, its about body type and enthusiasm. My favorite 3 are violet myers, arabelle raphael and Angela white. You'll notice pretty clear commonalities between them.

Note that:

  • You probably want to flag this post NSFW, so that people who don't want NSFW content can filter it out. Currently it is not so flagged.

  • There used to be a community on lemmynsfw.com, !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com, dedicated specifically to NSFW questions. Unfortunately, I understand that lemmynsfw.com went down in the last couple weeks, and apparently the admin was expected to be away from some time ("months"), and so people have been setting up replacement NSFW instances; I'm not sure that there's a similar community up yet.

    checks lemmynsfw.com

Ah. Looks like they managed to get it back up.

EDIT: Looks like it's been up for over a week, going off https://lestat.org/

I didn’t flag it because I don’t think it’s NSFW, since it isn’t graphic in nature. The community rules also say NSFW content is fine within reason. I’d rather post here to reach a wider audience than in a smaller community, especially since Lemmy is already relatively small to begin with.

No, as a woman, I just look up whatever niche or genre I feel like and take 5 minutes or less to get off and get on with my day. I can't relate at all with people who actually spend time watching porn like it's some kind of hobby. I don't think it should be but that's just me.
