Apparently I only got 10minutes of deep but I feel fine and recharged. Is this normal?

Sleepapnea?

[–] Asleep-Assumption569@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Are you sleeping in the metro ?

[–] brightworkdotuk@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mine averages between 40 mins to 1 hour 40. Never 2 hours or over. Which is sad.

CDC say 2 hour deep sleep a night is the goal

[–] AbelNachtvlinder@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What’s the definition of Deep Sleep anyway. I expect Apple’s algorithm is different from de CDC’s. Maybe 2 hours at CDC is equivalent to 45min Apple Watch ?!

I get 7-7.5 hours per night (can’t sleep any longer than that):

50-55 minutes of deep sleep 90-120 minutes of REM

Usuallly wake up 2-3 times at night (usually stress dreams).

I’m 54.

When I used to drink heavily, I’d be lucky to get 15 minutes of deep sleep and 30 minutes of REM.

[–] fate77@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[–] TrashIslander@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anyone know what core sleep is?

[–] Aion2099@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

[–] 49thDipper@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

35 minutes average. Not enough.

[–] Hank_moody71@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How much cocaine did you do before bed?!?

[–] Practical_Lake_3560@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

54 minutes although it’s just 49 minutes on average for the last month.

[–] ch3rryc0deine@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

usually something like these but i’m a full time student with PTSD so it makes sense and i’m working with my doctor to improve it.

if you have not seen a doctor about this or have no idea as to why you’re waking up so often you may want to get it checked out!

Are you really sleeping.

For optimal brain function you need to have atleast 1hr REM sleep and about 45mins of deep sleep on average.

Else all neurons on your brain will soon be f***ed up. I mean sleep like this for long term will lead to depression/anxiety, alziemer in your old age even bad cardiovascular condition.

When I was tested for sleep apnea, I felt like I was getting good enough sleep. Then in my test, they calculated me at 60 events per hour and they gave me a cpap. My events per hour went down to about 2. I felt way better.

I invite you to consider getting yourself tested for sleep apnea.

FWIW, I've lost a ton of weight in the past year and I no longer need the cpap.

I had the best sleep ever I woke up refreshed and I got a notification saying I beat my sleeping goal. Usually I don’t track sleep but forgot to take my watch off

[–] Successful_Benefit66@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not about your deep sleep slow, but also your REM sleep

[–] QuitCallingNewsrooms@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

OP, you’ve got some sleep issues going on if you’re waking up that many times a night. What’s your bedtime routine?

This was my night last night.

What the charts look like for a dad with a 7 week old baby. Actual “sleep” time feels a lot less than the published figure.. lol

[–] voongoto@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

how old are you? How oftern you have nightmares?

People need around 1.5 hours of deep sleep nightly. Your body restores and repairs itself in deep sleep. Low deep sleep time signals of some kind chronic infection in your body. Might be parasytes, might be bacteria or viruses. You don't feel it yet but your body is being under attack. Check what's causing it and kill it.

With my Gen 2 ring I averaged 2hrs per night. Since changing to Gen 3 my average is between 1hr 30 mins and 1hr 45mins
