Who says you need to actually be pregnant to do this?

Could you imagine standing there as they lock lips, faces contorting in disgust as they trample upon the malefic beliefs that brought them there? Witnessing the little death as their gold star is forever taken from them. Dropping the fake belly on the ground and sprinting away as jeers and slurs fly from behind you as you avoid being bludgeoned by aggrieved zealots

Abortion is done (at least around here) before week 12. At that point it's barely visible over clothing, specially if the mother isn't the smallest to begin with. So a bit too big hoodie is well enough, no need for fake belly.

But but but herr trump said they were happening up until the point of birth!

Walking in with a whole ass baby and threatening to abort it unless two men swap spit.

That's the US Army

A person can't just walk in and get an abortion because they don't want the kid right up until the birth. Even in Virginia which has no hard deadline for banning abortion, the bar to clear for an abortion is raised for each trimester.

Third trimester abortions require three physicians to agree that not doing so would either likely be deadly to the mother or "substantially and irremediably impair the mental or physical health of the woman."

https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title18.2/chapter4/section18.2-74/

A single physician can approve an emergency abortion regardless of trimester to save the life of the mother: https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title18.2/chapter4/section18.2-74.1/

Yeah, that's a good point. Less cinematic, though.

True. I wonder if their stance would be any different if there was someone at week 35 on the line, but I highly doubt that.

If you could use that to make them feel like they were able to look down on someone, maybe. Smugness feeds their worldview.

They aren't going to kiss. They're going to scream in your face, cry giant crocodile tears, wave a big placard with a crucified puppy on it, and call you a Satanist.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 day ago

My friend actually was a satanist with many stories exactly like that. Anti-abortion counter-protests have my absolute favorite people. Most of the anti-abortion folks just scoffed, but some literature was offered, 0 opinions were swayed, 0 boykissers were induced, and hundreds of women felt safer entering clinics with dozens to hundreds of people ready to throw down on their behalf.

I'd prefer that people be given their privacy, but physical safety comes first. Especially in this era of social erosion

With as many of them that are in the closet, they might go for this though

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're dumb people but I don't think they will believe a 40+ yr old dude

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago

You can tell them you'll de-transition

"I am pregnant with quadruplets. If you bend over and let that angry biker with the God Hates Fags sign absolutely rail you, I will save the babies. Otherwise, they're going to be made into the special skin cream that Hanoi Jane uses to stay looking so young"

[–] Delphia@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I was thinking "Why stop at Kiss?"

[–] Redvenom@retrolemmy.com 15 points 1 day ago

Ok, that was a good kiss, I changed my mind, see you tomorrow

[–] FrowingFostek@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

I only condone grifting if its to the detriment of the right. I condone this. Its magnificent even if it only works once.
