We can only dream. Wake me up when the terrible Poles era is over.
Chicago Bears
Isn’t that Ben Devine guy just fake news all the time
I can definitely see Warren possibly firing Poles since it isnt like he was the one that hired him. I definitely feel better about the direction of the team since we have Warren vs still having Teddy boy as the President and needing former GMs of the league from 20 years ago to consult on decisions. I think all we can do is hope that Kevin Warren will truly right this ship, since i will unfortunately be a fan until the day i die and hope to see the Bears win a Super Bowl or 4 in my lifetime...
God please be true! Poles shit the bed in free agency and this coaching staff. So far his picks outside of Wright have been underwhelming.
If you actually listen to the interview, Breer never says Poles isn’t safe or that it was trending in that direction.
I think Poles has done enough to at least see this rebuild through the whole 3-5 years he laid out when hired. The vision is clearly there and from a roster standpoint, lots of progress has been made.
I will delete my account and sub to the Packers reddit if Ryan Poles is not the Bears GM for the 2024 season.
Ryan Poles orchestrated the biggest fleecing of an NFL team in this decade. No way is he being let go.
If this happens, I wouldn't hate it. Poles has been good for the most part. He takes chances and I like that. But his backing of Eberflus in the press conference didn't sit right with me. At all
They all safe. This year. Next yearvis where the rubber meets the road. 3 year plan and I trust in it. I see it working. Development isn't an over night success it's a process anD losing is part of that.
Whoever....just as long as we can win games
I think Poles deserves more time, but tying himself to Eberflus could be his downfall. If he truly thinks Eberflus should get another year, that is a fireable offense.
The case for keeping Eberflus, to the extent one exists, is in the improvement we see each week from the young guys. You can't separate growth in guys like Jones, Stevenson, Dexter, Gordon, Fields, etc. from the guy who keeps talking about the need to get the details right and focus on execution week after week. These things are related!
It's fair to ask if Eberflus is the coach to make this team a winner (maybe not), but it's also fair to ask if he is the best coach to build a winning roster (maybe).
This is the thing that gives me a little bit of solace. If he fires Flus and brings in a new coach, he likely buys himself at least 2 more years as GM. I think he’s smart enough to realize that. Fire Flus, bring in a new coach. Have new coach work with Fields. If it goes horribly wrong, draft a QB in 25, get at least another year, maybe two. I mean that’s the rational decision that I would make. If he sticks with Flus AND Fields next year and it’s miserable. he’s cooked. If he drafts Maye or Williams and it’s a disaster, he’s cooked.
Fire Flus, bring in a new coach. Have new coach work with Fields.
Nope. Because any new coach worth their salt is going to say "I want to start fresh with my own QB."
Pretty substantial misstep. Can you trust him to get the next coach right?
Not sure Flus even has a lot to do with it. Warren being hired was always a wild card since he didn’t hire these guys. He has no ties to them.
Man I disagree. The absolute worst pass rush in the NFL last year was "addressed" by signing a guy no one else wanted in August.
In the NFL especially, games are won in the trenches. Poles hasn't shown he has any understanding of that concept whatsoever. He needs to go. There's absolutely no foundation to build off of whatsoever.
It's pure speculation - Watch/listen for yourself 10:54 - 12:06
The question was: Do the Bears bring back Matt Eberflus next season. and what about Justin Fields?
Answer: "I think right now it's trending towards Eberflus not being back. That is in part due to Kevin Warren's influence in the organization. He did not hire Ryan Poles, he did not hire Matt Eberflus, I think he is motivated to see what he can do with his own guys in there. I have also heard that Kevin Warren wants to be a little bit more involved on the football side, which may influence the decision there."
I choose to not believe this
Everytime I see this guy he says the wrong Intel. Dude's not actually a legit source
Albert Breer?

This was deleted earlier so, expecting this post may be too since it's clearly just a guess.
I trust Warren much less than Poles so hopefully this isn't actually true though.
I believe this because it would be stupid and therefore Bears.
I still feel like Eberflus was forced on Poles thanks to the Bears “brain trust” work with Polian. Let Poles hire his guy and then let’s see what happens before we hang Poles out to dry. He hasn’t been a perfect GM, none are, but he’s done a good job of restocking an overpaid, old team, with young talent.
I can't remember the exact timeline but wasn't brought in an as outside consultant and was narrowing down coached with Phillips and McCaskey before Poles was even hired? I could be wrong but I swear Poles was given a limited selection of coaches and the Flus being endorsed by Polian was like a nudge nudge "you sre going to hire this guy" type deal. So feels like Eberflus wasn't even hired by Poles entirely in that scenario it feels like.
This has to mean that they’re set on Harbaugh to be coach. I’m thinking he’s getting the GM spot too
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Warren needs to worry about the stadium and keep his nose out of football operations. He not a fan like George he can get fired.
This is just as clickbait as anything that says Fields is not the problem.. does anyone actually care? We all have drawn our own conclusions and there's really nothing new to add to the equation. Poles has hits and misses, Fields flashes but has massive room for growth.. our team sucks, but not enough to suck this bad.. please win more games.. a drained fan
What has Kevin Warren ever done in his career to justify a great football mind?
Poles pulled off a heist of a trade. He’s rebuilt almost every positional group to something that resembles competency with a lot of upside to come given cap space and draft assets.
Unless Poles sacrifices himself to the Flus grenade he should work with Warren to identify a coach.
I’ll do it! I promise more weapons, to shore up the interior o line. Dollar dog (hotdog) day against the pack!
I just don't see how you keep Poles and get rid of his choice in coach.
I think Eberflus is awful and I think he should be fired. I like Poles and would like to keep him cause I believe in him.
But if we have a team President that has a vision that wants to bring in his own guys that can execute it? Hell yes, let’s do it. Get rid of them both
Poles seems to have been stuck with Eberflus. It seems the "brain trust" had selected Flus and forces him on Poles.
In no way can a new GM properly evaluate and hire a head coach only a few days after being hired as a GM.
That being said, Kevin Warren is defiantly a guy who wants things his way, and gets what he wants. He has been involved with pro and college football for nearly 30 years. He is the football guy the team desperately needed after Ted.
Honestly if Poles were to get fired it wouldn’t be because of the Claypool trade or any draft picks or free agents that didn’t pan out. It would be for letting the coaches go out there after games and basically shit on the players by not taking any blame. Never acknowledging they got the analytics wrong and clearly don’t understand when a game/season is about testing players and taking risks.
But I thought he was just here to build a stadium /s
Not sure what poles has done to deserve this. I say fake news. What source could this guy have to know what the top guys most important decisions are going to be. Looking for clicks
Poles has been mixed.
Points for: kyler Gordon pick, Braxton jones pick, tyrique Stevenson pick, billings signing, DJ Moore trade, edwards signing
Strikes against: claypool trade, yannick ngokue signing, organizational chaos
Neutral: Darnell wright pick but passing on Jaylen carter, Edmunds signing is too early to tell, Brisker pick I’m mixed on
Thank god. Poles is 100% complicit in this mess and letting him scapegoat whoever would be a mistake.
What football experience does Warren have outside of being a executive? Giving him control of the team is pretty much going back to McCaskey. Warren's main job when he was hired was the new stadium, which seems to be going nowhere. Poles deserves more than two years to rebuild the dumpster fire he took over. Other than too high a pick for Claypool and not getting a true center, his moves have been pretty good.
So Warren is the variable in all of this. IF he really does want to be more involved in the football side of things, then Ryan Poles is absolutely not safe, especially if he pulls a Ryan Pace and stands in front of the bullets for Flus.
I think the only way Flus gets fired is if Warren orders it, though. Poles won't do it on his own.
I don’t think Poles deserves to be let go. He’s made some bad decisions sure but I also think he’s drafted pretty well. It’s only his second year.
If Warren wants to fire Eberflus then good. But when it come to firing Poles I’ll believe it when I see it.
Again, Flus was brought in & basically hired before Poles was even hired.
Fire Flus, keep Poles.
Draft MHJ, draft OL/DL
I think poles has done a good good drafting as well as signing good talents without breaking the bank. Opinions?
