Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

When Ron Swanson is the president you know that movie is going to be Liberal as fuck.

98% chance the movie ends with the journalist achieving peace via a well taken photo.

Ends with a Kendall Jenner Pepsi moment.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

The movie is actually a response to Milei's election, not Trump

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 30 points 2 years ago

Dog shit lib fever dream. They want the same thing as chuds, but they want to be the ones to say "can't we all just get along" and save the day. Meanwhile the chuds just want to know what it's like to kill a minority so they can feel something.

it's real centrism hours.

As soon as I saw this trailer was in Trending, I knew to come here for the take.

Hexbear never fails me!

Hexbear is basically the only place on the internet where the consensus is correct.

Americans have to turn even their future Civil war into a treat to be consumed. So meta-pathetic. Fucking braindead society.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago

At least The Purge movies recognized that the next big American civil conflict is just going to be a massive wave of stochastic terror attacks

Which basically started because the president from The Purge: Election Day ended The Purge, but then the New Founding Fathers just reinstated it after she left office

Then in The Forever Purge, all the freaks and Chuds who liked The Purge decided to just kill people all the time, regardless of laws and they kill a bunch of the New Founding Fathers too for "not doing enough to protect the right to Purge"

This is the conclusion to trump derangement syndrome

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The beginning was the election Purge movie (which apparently was decent according to some of the lefty analysis I've seen lol)

Then there was "The Hunt" which was basically just Hunger Games/Squid Game, except they satirized themselves as psycho liberal elites killing conservatives (and for some reason conservatives got very upset even though the movie was about the conservatives fighting back with guns lol)

Then, this shit.

I honestly liked the Purge when it focused on the disparity and how the purge was a means to cull and destroy the stratified working classes by way of creating infighting to preserve the power of the truly rich and powerful (who suffered little form the Purge), as well as showing suburbanite derangement (the first Purge movie). Wisecrack has a great breakdown of the Purge as a means of talking about income inequality and the ways in which America kills the poor.

I have a feeling this is going to be bad. The "I'm American" scene reeks of centrism and naive lib American patriotism. Hopefully this isn't a trend for A24.

[–] joaomarrom@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

I'll probably watch that slop anyways, because of Alex Garland and also Jesse Plemons is in it

Future Sunday slop night on the CyTube

California, Texas, and Florida forming an alliance. Yeah, someone really did their homework on that one.

Not only is it extremely politically unlikely, but the logistics of that alliance are absolute dog shit. California is going nowhere. To the north, there's mountains, mountains, and surprise, more fucking mountains. Some sniper/drone/rpg teams, or maybe just one decisively placed stick of cobalt 60 would be enough to shut down vital routes with no easy bypass. To the east, there's mountains and then the widest, openest desert terrain you can imagine, leaving any ground logistics to cross what is, effectively, the world's biggest shooting gallery.

[–] Bloobish@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

Yeah California itself has enough infastructure, dogshit as it is, and defensible terrain to more or less keep itself independent as long as the state guard doesn't pull a coup. Overall this just feels like ahistorical brain worms.

if there isnt a Great lakes khanate then your US civil war story is bad sorry, also its funny that the only 2 rebel factions are a bunch of states with little in common (texas, california) and big florida, like at least add a chinese or european intervention.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

Time to start training americans in how bad things could really be so they complain less about how bad things currently are.

This liberal wet dream of civil war against conservatives is as weird as it is pathetic. I don't understand it at all. Why go out of your way to exaggerate the strife in your society? It's like some victim complex that they are trying to feed all the time.

[–] joaomarrom@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

whoa, alex garland really developed the computer from DEVS and made a docudrama about the near future? that's cool

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I hated that show tbh. Rick and Morty/Marvel slop for HBO aesthetes

[–] davel@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I bailed before finding that out because I couldn’t suffer its snail’s pace.

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

Honestly a good choice

[–] Notabutler@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What sci-fi shows do you think are actually good? already watched scavengers reign before u say that

[–] Parsani@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

Recent? I enjoyed Severance. I think it falls under sci fi.

scavengers reign

I haven't seen this. Thanks for the recommendation

[–] Antiwork@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

I'm cool with this as long as we get the rise of communism as the sequel

[–] Bloobish@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

Honestly suprised we didn't get a movie like this right after 2016, then again guess the Trump and Blue Maga brainworms had to ferment a little bit to get this.

[–] Bloobish@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

Saw this on Youtube and was gonna post it if someone already hadn't and alas someone beat me to the punch!

>Libs when the real civil war happens, and they see a column of Pickups covered in wholesome Ukranian runes approaching their township to bring them relief aid.

[–] pumpchilienthusiast@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

what’s so civil about war anyway
