I don't think this tech is ready to power an autonomous taxi service, which is apparently the plan for June.

I laughed very hard, you bastard XD

I was front wheels off the road by the time my reaction time hit the mouse button.

And a mouse button is faster to activate than a steering wheel :,|

I don't know the answer to your question, but I buy whatever the kids are selling. And I make like an idiot that knows nothing about it, whatever it is. (separately, am idiot, but I play it up)

I figure, maybe I can help a little? The money is probably negligible towards whatever the need is, but learning to sling popcorn or cookies, that might stoke some spark of pint-size entrepreneurship in them :j

I'm actually research Aurora right now for another piece.

Much better technical setup than Tesla. Tesla isn't even trying to apply their consumer FSD tech to their semi product.

Oh RIGHT... THAT.

That feels like a great reason to not apply machine learning to a problem.

In case you were worried about the roads being too safe, you can rest easily knowing that Teslas will be rolling out with unsupervised "Full Self Driving" in a couple days.

It doesn't seem to be going great, even in supervised mode. This one couldn't safely drive down a simple, perfectly straight road in broad daylight :( Veered off the road for no good reason. Glad nobody got badly hurt.

We analyze the onboard camera footage, and try to figure out what went wrong. Turns out, a lot. We also talk through how camera-only autonomous cars work, Tesla's upcoming autonomous taxi rollout, and how AI hallucinations figure into everything.

They didn't need to tell me to have fun - I was having a fucking BLAST! I had that young-person invincibility thing going on.

Now, medical calls, those were a whole different deal. And unfortunately that was probably 95% of my calls, I had the EMT-B cert and most the other volunteers didn't XD

OH NO I LOLLED

Tesla owners are modifying their cars to be escapable if the car catches fire, because the doors stop working like normal and you need to rely on well-hidden mechanical overrides.

Which... feels pretty dangerous, like that's the worst possible time for the doors to stop working like normal.

Engine go "BRRRRR!"

This is really pretty amazing how poorly designed the Tesla doors are, where if the power fails (like in a crash or a fire), you might need to remove the speaker grill or two separate panels to get to the emergency mechanical door release.

Like, how hasn't this been recalled already?

In case you thought cars would become safer as technology developed... rest assured, Tesla is finding newer and ever-dumber ways to make their cars dangerous to occupants (and others).

TL;DR: If you're in a Tesla and it loses power (like in a fire), the only way to open the doors is often an unlabeled wire behind either two panels or a speaker grill. Tesla owners are DIYing janky rip cords to make that wire easier to pull to escape.

How is this even possible? Like, seriously. No way that Cybertruck has high enough miles that it has bald tires, so how is it stuck in that spot?

This guy's self-driving Cybertruck keeps trying to run over pedestrians, and he just keeps using it.

This technology is definitely ready for rollout for unsupervised Full Self-Driving in 2 weeks. No doubt...!

LOL... the Toyota Corolla in the background clearly had no issue driving through that water.

I was watching a Cybertruck driver “test the truck’s wade mode,” and was treated to some accidental comedy.

He manages to break a wheel well cover off, fry the electronics for the bed, and flood the frame. Like, enough water in the frame that he can hear it.

In short, definitely ready to be a boat. Propeller accessory when?!
