Yandex thinks Hexbear is more credible than the BBC.

[–] dessalines@lemmy.ml 81 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Correct opinion.

Yall remember that time BBC got caught doctoring images from bloggers in China and making them all dark and depressing? British state media is nothing but tabloid trash.

[–] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 19 points 11 months ago

Now, that's some shit... agony-4horsemen

thats a low bar to clear

[–] cosecantphi@hexbear.net 105 points 11 months ago (3 children)

That tracks. A forum where most people speak English but have political views in alignment with a lot of the global south is nigh unheard of. Lately I've been thinking that we might start getting attention for it from the wider internet just because of how unique this place is

[–] Comp4@hexbear.net 81 points 11 months ago (4 children)

Cant wait for the BBC interns to try and interview hexbears.

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 66 points 11 months ago (1 children)

That's when you hit them with the old hog shite bollocks

In an unexpected twist that has raised eyebrows across various social and political spectrums, individuals associated with the 'Hexbear' movement recently shared an image featuring what appears to be a pig relieving itself in a rather unusual manner. The photograph was forwarded by some members of this radical left-leaning group who claim it symbolizes their ongoing struggle against perceived oppressive systems and those they accuse of exploiting the vulnerable for personal gain. While certainly unorthodox, the image has sparked debates about the boundaries of acceptable protest imagery within political activism circles.

Thank you for that rather eyebrow-raising report. Now, let's pop over from the political pigsty to something a tad more predictable- the weather. Our very own Sarah is here to tell us whether we’ll be needing wellies or sunglasses this week. Over to you, Sarah!

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 36 points 11 months ago

We'll just reply with ppb

[–] NewAcctWhoDis@hexbear.net 16 points 11 months ago (1 children)

The average hexbear (myself included) would do terribly in a political interview.

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 17 points 11 months ago

[–] IzyaKatzmann@hexbear.net 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 91 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Yandex sorting by active

[–] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 64 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Weird, that seems to be one of the only ones that shows up. Even searching hexbear returns results for prolewiki and the gitlab first

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 57 points 11 months ago (1 children)

You would think it would be the first result for beanis.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 47 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Deeply unserious webforum obsessed with "beanis" a corruption of the words bean plus penis.

[–] EelBolshevikism@hexbear.net 21 points 11 months ago

putins are hexbear bots actually

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 46 points 11 months ago

I once searched up some russian names mentioned here when the terrorist attack happened at the stadium. There were only 3 results on google: Twitter, some Russian bot news outlet, and Hexbear lol

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 44 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Holy shit. This is like levels of recognition that caused the subreddit to be monitored

I fear for this place’s lifethe-pigs

[–] EelBolshevikism@hexbear.net 31 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (3 children)

what if this place is a honeypot

[–] djsaskdja@reddthat.com 37 points 11 months ago (2 children)

The entire internet is a honeypot. Organize offline.

[–] TheWurstman@hexbear.net 9 points 11 months ago (3 children)

Capitalists only created the internet to monitor communists

Fucking lame we could be organising an economy with it

I got destroyed the sub Reddit sorry guys, but I must add I’m a fucking freak who only started browsing Reddit in 2020

I compared the results from DDG and Yandex with the same search. DDG is all Western MSM while Yandex has some social media sites including a thread on NeoGAF lol

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 45 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It’s always amusing to see westerners promote DDG as some privacy/uncensored alternative. Dog if a company has enough money to run ads all over the web and the superbowl, its not protecting your information.

[–] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 24 points 11 months ago

At this point DDG is basically just an alternative frontend for Bing.

we're not beating the "Paid by Russians" allegations smdh daddy Xi would never abandon me like this kitty-cri

[–] ReadFanon@hexbear.net 14 points 11 months ago

Ye. That was me.

Noticed it a while ago but wasn't sure whether or not I should have mentioned it because it only serves to add to the spectre of Hexbear but it was too funny not to mention it and my ADHD impulsiveness got the better of me so here we are lol.

I often get hits for Hexbear on the first or second page of results. It was quite jarring the first time it happened to me when I was trawling for pirated materials and I was like "Huh, that's Hexbear...
Wait, wtf is Hexbear doing on Yandex!?"
