[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Somebody always got to beat me to it. I'm not nearly as clever as I think I am. :(

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Aww. It's mainly boredom and luck that I was able to catch it. Lol.

Don't think of it as a race, think of it as an opportunity to find kindred spirits

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Damn, I felt my heart thaw a bit. Gotta be more careful around this neck of the interwoods.

[–] Test_Tickles@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Haha! Yes, I too am old, nice to meet you.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Same. I just came in to upvote it. But, also, I take minor pride in knowing what the first comment will be.

For some reason I have strong memories of my childhood dentist having this song on. They almost always had a "soft rock" station on, which to young me was very awful.

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My dentist was similar. I heard so much Tom Petty and Van Halen on my dentist trips

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Lucky bastard.

I heard so much Bon Jovi, my teeth are rotten.

"Hand crafted, Real Sugar, Small batch"

Everything okay over there America?

Not by a long shot.

[–] Voyajer@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

It just looks like craft soda in a fountain?

My parents wanted me to become Dr. Doctor. But I'm merely a Mr. Mister. So take these broken wings.

🎵Can't you see I'm burpin, burpin?🎵

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Little bit of Thompson Twins? Nice.

[–] baronvonj@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Definitely had a cross between "it's an older meme" and "I understood that reference" memes fighting it out before posting, wondering how many people might actually get the reference.

[–] shutz@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Does it taste like you put the lime in the coconut?

The only question... The question the Silence dreads... The first question in the universe... Doctor Who?

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Major Major Major Major

Please. I applaud you on the UFO reference instead of Robert Palmer.

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 5 points 1 month ago

Waiter: "What would you fellas like to drink?"

UFO: "Dr. Doctor! Please!"

[–] Aspharr@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I was hopping for someone to reference UFO or I would myself. Happy to not be disappointed.

I mean what else are you gonna name the flavor that is Dr pepper?

Cherry BBQ flavor?

I can't really explain how it tastes except that.

[–] tempralanomaly@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Dr. Pibb? Mr. Pepper? Mr. Doctor? Dr. Mister?

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

No I mean the flavor not the name. Sprite tastes like lemon lime, Fanta is orange, grape soda is... Grape. Root beer tastes like cough syrup, etc...

What the hell does Dr pepper taste like?

I think it tastes like BBQ sauce with cherry in it.

[–] thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Spiced cherry cola, maybe?

[–] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

Yeah that works. Explains the pepper part for sure.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Where do I get the root beer flavored cough syrup?

Thirst? Unquenched.

Hotel? Trivago.

[–] bruhduh@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Visa? Mastercard

Anything labeled "Non-GMO" is bullshit. Whether the "real" sugar in there came from sugarcane or beets those plants have been genetically modified for centuries, long before dipshits decided GMOs were somehow unnatural and scary.

[–] AlbinoPython@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Jokes on them, I would have got that from a Mr. Doctor.

Can these machines even operate using glucose syrup? They seem to be attempting to get in on the non-corn syrup craze, but I don’t think they’re physically capable of using what they’re implying, but not stating.

[–] Blaat1234@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Rest of the world exists you know, where corn doesn't get insane subsidies and sugar cane / beet is far cheaper than corn syrup.

Ingredients of our Cola bag-in-box for postmix machine: Water, sugar, colouring (sulphite ammonia caramel), acid (phosphoric acid), flavourings (contains caffeine), sweeteners (acesulfame-K, sucralose), preservative (sodium benzoate), anti-foaming agent (dimethylpolysiloxane)

Oh, sugar tax and health labels (green A good, red E bad) made everyone cut back a little and add some sweetener... Meh.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago

It is a US product made with cane sugar, I don’t see the relevance of the rest of the world

Yes.
