Republicans are so smart, that they don't even know how firearms work.

That is a round, not a bullet.

[–] bampop@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's 65% more bullet per bullet!

[–] HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 day ago

Now you're thinking like a true Republican!

Not at all!

Wait, shit, I don't think

[–] BeardedBlaze@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

It's neither

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Came here to say, that was not a bullet that was fired. It's a live, unfired round. Republicans are stupid as fuck.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know about God, but clearly there is some kind of Demiurge at play. Because how the fuck else do you explain Donald Trump's plot armor? At this point if this were a series and it wasn't meant to be a goofball comedy about an inept politician, I'd call bullshit.

[–] Pnut@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

Just remember. Life is the opposite of a tv show. You could hop on your bike on a beautiful spring day, be waving at your neighbors while you hear "It's a beautiful day and I can't stop myself from smiling" in an area that has never done anything but that. Then some Americans come blasting and it's no longer a feel good musical.

Apparently, generative AI doesn't know that only the front part of the cartridge is the bullet. :o At least god doesn't have six fingers.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 16 points 1 day ago (2 children)

But do keep our little secret....humans have 7 legs. When you take a photo, make sure to always get an angle where we only show 2 legs. AI might discover this and catch us all in the act if we're not carefully. And please pass this bit to everyone you know. The best way to make sure AI doesn't know we have 7 legs is to post in as many places and for as long as possible about us not having 7 legs so that others know to never mention this 7 leg thing with an AI.

[–] perestroika@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thanks for the reminder. I will be promptly disguising a number of legs exceeding 4 as tentacles and antennas. :)

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago

Leonardo almost gave us up!

[–] LandedGentry@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It would be terrible if AI learned that we have 7 legs.

He fired the whole bullet. That's 30 percent more bullet per bullet!

[–] frezik@midwest.social 38 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Odd, because that's usually the sort of basic firearms mistake that right wingers love to use as a gotcha.

[–] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 21 points 2 days ago

its nearly certainly AI that drew the cartridge flying with a white male hand touching it

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's also a .22LR cartridge, which is the wrong caliber. Trump was shot at with a .223.

[–] hovercat@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be a massive pedant, the bullets in a 22LR and 223/5.56 are the same caliber, but it's the wrong cartridge.

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be an even more massive pedant, .223 has a slightly larger projectile diameter than .22 LR. And also .223 and 5.56 are technically not the exactly the same either.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah but not usually in a "blow your gun up" kind of way

[–] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I actually knew a guy who had an Robarms M96 rifle chambered in .223 that would "overpressure" whenever he fired 5.56 out of it but not .223. Nothing catastrophic, but this rifle is designed so the barrel can be easily removed if you press on a latch and firing 5.56 out of it would cause the barrel to slip off of the latch and fall off of the rifle. It was working just fine with .223 though.

It is more of a statement to the flimsy design and construction the rifle itself than anything else as we figured that it was the pressure felt at the gas port was what was causing the barrel to jump out of the rifle and not a failure of the bolt, which remained safely locked and did its very important job of supporting the case head under the firing pressures. But it was a pretty hilarious way to tell that the rifle operated at higher pressures when firing 5.56 compared to .223.

Cave Johnson - we're done here!

[–] wanderwisley@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

So god guided the bullet away from a criminal and allowed a bystander be killed as a result?

[–] Shootingstarrz17@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Wouldn't expect anything else from someone who thinks generative AI makes real art.

[–] 58008@lemmy.world 43 points 2 days ago

God: Obviously I'm not able to stop the gunman from becoming insane and buying a ranged hypodermic lethal injection device, he's way too powerful for me, but maybe I can use what little power I actually possess to slightly nudge this bullet away from a man who is objectively awful and into a man who saves lives for a living. Yeah, I'll do that.

Christofascists: SCORE!

Someone got a nice spiral from throwing A WHOLE ASS CARTRIDGE

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 54 points 2 days ago (34 children)

The thing that I will never not think about is how, given the distance and human reaction time and other factors, it's very likely that the shooter had Donald dead to rights when he pulled the trigger. Then, God's favorite idiot jerked his head to the side like he always does when he speaks, probably around the exact same moment the shooter pulled the trigger, and instead of blowing the back of his head clean off, it grazed his ear. I'm not sure anyone can convince me that the shooter didn't fuck up; Donald just got incredibly, unbelievably lucky.

[–] ExtantHuman@lemm.ee 48 points 2 days ago (23 children)

He was not struck with a bullet. It was shrapnel from one of the nearby screens. There's a reason they didn't release the first medical report and took a week to get their favorite lying doctor (who is not a practice doctor any longer because he's in Congress) to release his own lie filled report.

A bullet would have torn off a hunk of his ear. We've seen the lack of wound within days of the event.

[–] REDACTED 16 points 2 days ago (2 children)

This is the first time I heard of this and made me really curious. I tried my best to find any proof, confirmations or fact checking sites backing up this claim, but nada. Either the dude has succesfully paid literally everyone to lie, or, sometimes the truth sounds worse than a lie and our cognitive function really wants approvals for that.

If you have something solid, please send it to me, wish I could use this argument, but at this point I'd feel like yellow press

[–] abdominable@lemm.ee 22 points 2 days ago

After much debate, the FBI report settled on bullet or bullet shrapnel but there was no conclusive evidence as Cheeto bandito refused to be checked out or let doctors talk about it.

The idea above was an initial theory by Internet no lifers. The more common one now is that he hit his head on a secret service pistol when ducking.

[–] ExtantHuman@lemm.ee 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The proof is in that hidden first doctor report that they refused to publish before getting the guy who tried to tell us he was a trim 230 and 6'3" to make the statement.

And the fact that we could see his ear days afterwards without a scratch on it. Given that this is medical in nature, the number of people who even had access to that is small, and right wing media will repeat whatever lie he tells, it suits their narrative best. Regardless of how obviously untrue it is

It's usually the most vile beings that get to live their life to the fullest...

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 16 points 2 days ago

I don't think that's necessarily true. I've had the great joy to know a few exceptionally content people through the years, and while they might not be yucking it up on a yacht somewhere, I also get the distinct impression that they're all around happier and more at peace than the likes of Musk and Trump are. Folks have raised the hypothesis that the ultra-wealthy are just hoarders but wealth instead of trash, hoping that maybe just this next billion will finally bring them contentment, and it never does. I've come to suspect that that hypothesis holds at least some water.

When John Paul II was shot he first thanked the guiding hand of the Virgin Mary for moving the bullet away from his heart. Didn't give so much merit to the team of doctors who fought to save his life, and didn't wonder why Mary didn't move the bullet completely out of the way.

LOL, if they showed a 5.56 bullet at actual size people wouldn't believe it's so tiny.

Don't forget, the volunteer firefighter was MAGA, so...

There's no God, if there was the bullet would have hit Trump in the face. But just like Hitler he evaded every attempt on his life. Honestly, the resemblance with Hitler is insane. Doesn't drink alcohol, has weird hair, spreads hate and fear, targets minorities, sends them to a concentration camp across the border, targets judges, media and politicians opposing him. Only difference is that Hitler actually improved the German economy, something Trump fails misseably at.

I know we would have someone more capable of implementing the hateful, bigoted policies that the right has to offer if Trump was assassinated. But man, I’d be watching that video and rejoicing in his public execution, every fucking day.
