… Jesus Christ the sound of this scene is embedded in my head.

This is the og Ninja Gaiden, right?

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yup! From the NES version.

[–] thagoat@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 3 weeks ago

One of the hardest goddamn games ever made. Broke a few controllers over this one.

Everybody was kung fu fighting!

[–] Today@lemmy.world 52 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I can tell you from experience that a third will not make things better.

"get 4 cats", got it.

Our cats fight and hiss at each other and “hunt” each other when humans are around, but I have woken up numerous times to go to the bathroom and they are cuddling together on the couch.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago

Same here. When we're away, not a single hair is out of place. But when we're home, it's WrestleMania Live in a hair carpet factory.

You’re lucky, I wish my bathroom had a couch

yep my "companion" cat and my first cat don't figh but they ignore each other to the max. lol Some times they hiss but thats all. They really don't like each other.

Mine are brothers and even then, they always try to groom each other and it immediately and infallibly turns into chasing each other around the house. Otherwise they’re chums, but as soon as the tongue is out it’s rumble time.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've found that when mine used to do that it was because one decided they were going to clean the shit out of the other, so he'd grab the other with both paws by the head as he licked away, all the while digging his claws into the face. I had to intervene a few times, but it's hard to know when they're doing it because they're so quiet.

Mine will do full on make out sessions grooming each other's faces, and other times one will grab the other in a headlock and start grooming. Other times they will be cuddling, and one starts grooming the other, who is clearly enjoying it. Then she decides she doesn't want it anymore and it turns into a slap fight in the bed before becoming another make out session.

Cats are weird sometimes

Mine were immediately best friends, but they wrestle with each other all the time. They cuddle, groom, explore, and squabble all day with each other

Tbf the oldest one I found in a box, in the rain, with one of her paws badly injured. In addition to the injury she also had sporotricosis, a horrible cat skin disease) but it was neutered and had a collar. She is very afraid of everything, people, sounds, rain... May be she is too trumatized to be friendly. But she is a love bug and it's the queen for most of her life

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

I was definitely lucky to have a perfect storm where they were just kittens ~ a month apart in age, and i had only had the older one for 2 weeks when i saved the second. Mine are also abnormally social and friendly cats. I'm just saying that even cats that are best friends will still wrestle and rough house with each other, and sometimes even fight, same as kids will fight with their siblings.

[–] Jyrdano@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Our cats also ignore each other, but they also have this game where they chase each other around the house. They seem to enjoy it.

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago

I am the companion cat that chases my cat around the house, he loves that shit

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

We have a sibling pair that doesn't get along completely for some reason, but our third stray oddball is the glue that holds this house together. He cuddles, plays with, and bites both in the 'ass' when they're not looking. He has something to give to everyone. It's adorable.

I brought a second adult male into the home with an established adult male. They didn't bond (despite the new one trying) until we moved to a new apartment. Neither had a stake on territory and they were both scared of the new environment. I found them cuddled in the coat closet after several days. They were cool from then on.

Ok so you date two men now? Or are you talking about cats?

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago

Still a better love story than Twilight.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 3 weeks ago

Both, of course.

Reminds me of this Perry Fellowship Bible strip

[–] Kickforce@lemmy.wtf 9 points 3 weeks ago

At least they don't look bored.

[–] w3dd1e@lemm.ee 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I thought getting a second dog would keep the first entertained so he was following me around, dependent on me 100% of the day.

Now, I just have two dogs that want to watch me pee. -_-

Love them both though! Don’t regret it.

[–] beejboytyson@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

They're making sure you safe while at your most vulnerable. Ever wonder why they glance at you real quick while pooping? "You got my back, right?"

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago

If they’re wrestling rather than hissing it’s fine really. Our two play at grabbing each other by the throat until one of them has had enough and runs off, and then later you find them sitting together but ignoring one-another.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Looks like that wizard fight from Lord of the Rings.

[–] GoodOleAmerika@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

This is Sparta

Well timed shot 😁
