Tell me how this was bad pass blocking?
He’s cleaned up penalties so far. He’s had 6 accepted penalties this season and 4 of them were week 1. He’s actually kind of flipped this year where his pass blocking has been good but run blocking has taken a hit.
I kind of like seeing Packers win just enough to keep them mediocre.
Not sure Flus even has a lot to do with it. Warren being hired was always a wild card since he didn’t hire these guys. He has no ties to them.
Not really. The only advantage would be if they wanted to start interviewing coaches internally (Bears don't have a candidate), coaches who aren't employed, or are in college. Even if you wanted to do those things it doesn't make much sense until season is over since you have to wait so long to talk to playoff team coaches. Outside of that it's just to give fans some instant gratification.
Some probably will be against him from the second he's drafted. It's the world we live in.
If he looks like Bryce Young it will get turned fast. A rookie would have a better situation than Young is being put in. He shouldn't be that bad, but you do expect a lot of ups and downs.
He hasn't been fired yet....
We have 6 more games. Lets just let things play out. So far all we know is:
The coaching staff sucks
Fields has been inconsistent. Can he change that narrative through the rest of the year.
The QB draft is really good and Bears are in perfect position for one. The new coaches should get their choice and not be forced to keep Fields. If they chose to keep Fields then at least it was their choice.
Bears won't get chosen while Virginia is alive. Even if they can't decline, the NFL bends over for the long tenured owners. If Flus gets fired, it will have nothing to do with Hard Knocks.
Think the majority are not okay with it, but we don’t get a choice. If he wins 7 games this year he’s probably retained and George will preach how the team showed needed progress down the stretch.
Disagree. Williams is a much better prospect. Navigating pocket, working through reads, hitting windows instead of waiting for wide open guys, and mechanics are far superior than Fields had in college.
What's crazy is with all these quick screen passes, and against a high blitz team, Fields time to throw average was still one of the longest on the year at 3.37 seconds (Lions was slightly slower at 3.42). He now owns the longest time to throw average in the entire league at 3.13 seconds.
