For example, !anime@ani.social has two threads pinned.

Browsing through lemmy.zip correctly shows them on top.

https://vger.app/posts/lemmy.zip/c/anime@ani.social

But browsing through piefed.zip does not.

I think this might be a lemmy vs piefed API difference? Perhaps something needs to be adjusted on Voyager to support this on piefed?

This was inevitable. The national unions would never stand for losing control, and world rugby is struggling to sanction this. I can't see Mike scraping together even 4 teams for some sort of league now

UK Power Networks trials Thermify's HeatHub boilers, swapping gas flames for clustered compute

Reusing heat from servers has gained momentum recent years, but UK Power Networks (UKPN) is taking an unusual approach: installing mini datacenters powered by Raspberry Pi hardware in customers homes to provide heating for families struggling with energy costs.

UKPN, which manages the "last mile" of cables and substations delivering electricity from the National Grid to customers in the South East of England, is piloting the project as part of its SHIELD (Smart Heat and Intelligent Energy in Low-income Districts) program.

This will equip participating households with solar and battery systems, while one-third will also receive the "HeatHub" system - a compact datacenter roughly the size of a large heat pump that replaces traditional gas boilers. [...]

The deadlock over ending the US government shutdown deepened on Wednesday, with senators once again rejecting competing bills to restart funding as Democrats and Republicans remain dug in on their demands for reopening federal agencies.

The funding lapse has forced offices, national parks and other federal government operations to close or curtail operations, while employees have been furloughed. Signs of strain have mounted in recent days in the parts of the federal government that remained operational, with staffing shortages reported at airports across the US as well as air traffic control centers. Further disruptions may come next week, when US military personnel and other federal workers who remain on the job will not receive paychecks, unless the government reopens.

When the Senate met on Wednesday afternoon, it became clear that sentiment had not shifted in the eight days since the shutdown began. For the sixth time, Democratic and Republican proposals to restart funding both failed to receive enough support to advance, and no senators changed their votes from recent days.

I have a few packages that I install from the aur (ffmpeg-full and ssmimulacra2_bin-git) but I have been having some issues with them so I would like to learn what is the recommend way of having access to these packages without interfering with my system packages.

I use ffmpeg-full when I want to mess around with libfdk-aac, and vvenc but I have a few problems with ffmpeg-full, one Is that it takes about 4-8 hours to update. The second issue is dependency hell and my final issues is that some packages only accept regular ffmpeg and will not run without.

I'm only having problems with ssimulacra2 because one of its dependencies requires a specific version of ffmpeg. If you have any alternatives to this package, they are welcome since I only installed this one in particular because it was listed on the aur.

I was thinking of using Docker to accomplish this task, but I have no idea how to start. Is this the wrong path to go?

Thank you for you time.

Easy. 4.3 mi loop

410 ft elevation gain

A shared use path with bike trails, this trail splits its time with forest and along the lake shore of Lake James with clear views of the surrounding area. Forest appears to have taken a lot of damage from a previous years ice storm. Lots of mushrooms to see; appears to be a bald eagle nest nearby.

A tuft of Cauliflower Mushroom I came across while hiking, looks a little dried out.

Looking westerly at Lake James, with what I believe to be Bald Knob and Dobson Knob seen in the distance.

What appears to be a bald eagle flying with a big stick for its nest. Taken with a wide angle lens, so even though I saw it coming, I couldn't get a better zoom on it than this (cropped).
