What do you think they do? I think there’s a pretty good chance the Carolina pick is #1. I fear they might scratch out a few wins and move back with their own pick.

MHJ is without question the best prospect IMO. I’d take him at #1 unless…some team is willing to sell the farm for Caleb Williams or Maye. That being said I’m not sold on either of those two. Take MHJ and the best OL on the board with the second pick.

If a team is sold on Caleb or Maye…trade back. I really think there’s a chance that Penix, Nix, or Jayden end up being more serviceable NFL QBs and that gives you the excuse to sit them behind Fields for at least a year while you re-evaluate with a new coaching staff.

TLDR: I think there’s a near zero percent chance the Bears draft a QB at 1, nor should they.

Don’t sleep on him. He looks like he’s ready. Fields might be the guy, but if he’s not, Nix appears to have the talent and the anticipation. If anything he drives up the price on the picks.

are we even sure that he'll be gone after this season??? i mean he SHOULD be but are we sure ownership will make that decision? if he stays what are the next steps? do we still draft qb?? what is the ceiling with him as hc??? are we just fucked????

155

... He should star in a Flash Gordon reboot.

156

He is always the last ornament that goes on our tree. 🐻⬇️

157

The Bears obviously need an upgrade at Center. I don’t really follow O-line players. Who are going to be the best free agents or draft prospects at the C?

158

…just watch a Jets game. I don’t care who is playing quarterback, this is the worst coached offense in history.

159

I look around the team and we don't have too many glaring weaknesses. Our coaching is that garbage.

160

Luke Getsy: We need to execute.

Dan Campbell: I should not have put them in that position.

Here's the original post, but for anyone who doesn't have FB I've pasted it in (just need to credit the OP). https://www.facebook.com/groups/257126908913582/permalink/1023950198897912/

People get caught up on that "300 yds passing" number WAAAAY too much!! Try looking at other things like:

(Stats)
COMPLETION %
QBR
"TOTAL" YARDS GAINED

Intangibles
COMMAND OF THE OFFENSE
📷ARM STRENGTH/ACCURACY
ATHLETICISM
CONFIDENCE
TOUGHNESS

Etc! Etc! Etc!

Question?? TERRY BRADSHAW!! One of theee winningest QBs in NFL HISTORY!! 4 Super Bowl Rings!! League MVP! First Ballot Hall of Famer!!

Do you know how many 3000 passing yard seasons he had in his FIRST BALLOT HALL of FAME career??

Go ahead...Take a crack at it!

TWO📷📷📷📷..
In his 14 year career!!

And do you know what passing for 3000 yards in a season comes out to???

187.5 yards PER GAME passing!!
📷📷📷📷📷📷📷
READ THAT AGAIN📷📷📷

And this ALL TIME GREAT only surpassed 3000 yds/season TWICE in his illustrious career!!

Annnd the year he won LEAUGE MVP!! WAS NOT ONE OF THEM!!

Why do you think all of this was possible??? Because HIS TEAM (Pittsburgh Steelers) HAD THE TALENT AROUND HIM📷📷📷

In the NFL....ONE MAN can NOT impact a team of 53 moving parts!! At least NOT impactful enough to single handedly bring a championship! Perhaps it could be done in the NBA or a sport with 10,11,12 guys on a team...

But NOT a team of 53 men!! And NOT a sport where (in the case when we're on defense) HE ISNT EVEN ON THE FIELD FOR HALF THE GAME!!!!!!

Although NOT Quarterbacks the following two players were NO DOUBT the BEST players on their respective teams and arguably the GREATEST OF ALL TIME (League Wide) in their respective positions!!

Dick Butkus & Walter Payton!

Walter Payton had TWO measly "Wild Card" appearances in 8 YEARS prior to finally breaking thru in 1984 and then on to the Super Bowl in 1985..!!!

Dick Butkus!!!
NEVRRRRR📷📷Saw the playoffs! Like..EVA! EVA!

Why? Because no matter HOW "GOAT STATUS" they were....Football is a different animal..!! You need 52 other guys! REGARDLESS of position!

This is the formula people
📷📷📷📷📷

GET A PROVEN "COMPETENT" COACH AROUND THIS MAN!!
(i.e Jim Harborough)

SURROUND THIS MAN WITH MORE TALENT!
(i.e Marvin Harrison Jr)

SHORE UP HIS PROTECTION
(i.e, Fashanu or Alt at Left Tackle PLUS Sedrick Van Pran/Center- Georgia)

SOLIDIFY THE PASS RUSH/DEFENSE with existing Cap Space (i.e Christian Wilkins/DT & either Brian Burns/DE OR Chase Young/DE)

FILL IN A FEW MORE HOLES
(i.e Cooper DeJean/Iowa at Free Safety plus a little more depth in the trenches on both sides of the ball..)

CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT of THESE EXISTING PLAYERS!
(VERY Important!!!!)
• Teven Jenkins
• Darnell Wright
• Braxton Jones
(If we choose to roll with him at LT)
• JuQuan Brisker
• Kyler Gordon
• Tyrique Stevenson
• Gervon Dexter
• Zacch Pikens
• Roschon Johnson
• Tyler Scott
• Jack Sanborn

RETAIN Jaylon Johnson & Darnell Mooney

And lastly!!! Justin's continued growth & improvement! As he has UNEQUIVOCALLY shown this season and in his last 5 or 6 outings!

Has it equated to WINS? Not yet but if we stay the course and implement the above formula 📷...it will undoubtedly lead to MASSIVE SUCCESS!!

THISSSS IS HOW YOU BUILD!

NOT starting from SCRATCH with a new (UN-proven) ROOKIE QB..!!
**** See Bryce Young!
📷📷📷📷📷
Caleb Williams 10000% gives me Bryce Young vibes (especially when he goes against RANKED competition!)

Anyway! My vote is to stick with #JF1

Thanks for listening! 📷

Fields games

Vs GB, lost, 4 sacks - 4 of 5 OL starters - 19th ranked defense

Vs TB, lost, 6 sacks - 3 of 5 - 26th ranked

Vs KAC, lost, 3 sacks - 2 of 5 - 4th ranked

Vs Den, lost, 4 sacks - 3 of 5 - 32nd ranked

Vs Wash, Won, 3 sacks - 3 of 5 - 29th ranked

Vs Min, lost, 4 sacks - 3 of 5 - 13th ranked

Vs Det, lost, 2 sacks - 5 of 5 - 11th ranked

Bagent games

Vs Min, lost, 1 sack - 3 of 5 OL starters - 13th

Vs LVR, Won, 1 sack - 3 of 5 - 21st

Vs LAC, Lost, 1 sack - 3 of 5 - 31 st

Vs NO, lost, 2 sack - 4 of 5 - 8th

Vs Car, won, 0 sacks - 4 of 5 - 6th

In 7 starts Fields has been sacked 26 times

65 carries for 341 yards, 20 1st downs, 5.2 Y/A, 5 fumbles

In 4 starts and 5 games Bagent has been sacked 5 times

23 carries for 109 yards, 11 1st downs, 4.7 Y/A, 3 fumbles.

Not saying Bagent is better. Throw away the "Fields needs protection" excuse. Bagent played with the same OL and receivers. Fields gets sacked more because he's a scrambler excuse? Bagent scrambled too. Bagent faced the same pressure. Difference is, Bagent was a lot cooler. When are you guys going to realize Fields isn't our franchise QB? Bagent isn't either. Drafting MHJ will be a waste with Fields at QB.

All dependant on them actually having a solid relationship of course.

This is a combined 3,168 yards in 13 games, compared to 3,385 (2,242 p 1,143 r) in 15 games last year.

There are people in random threads in this subreddit with nothing to do with Fields criticizing him. All the mistakes he makes no matter how small are blown up and shown as the reason he can’t play QB. Even when he plays well people say it was because the other team is bad or it still isn’t good enough. And also people also give the dog whistle he can’t read defenses even though he had one of the highest aptitude scores ever recorded at the combine. If you don’t think he is the guy fine, but the hate he receives is obsessive and disgusting.

is it not possible to pick up Fields fifth year option to keep them around for another year, while you draft the top QB prospect? You could then trade whichever one doesn’t work out. sounds crazy but crazier things have been done. Any thoughts?

Saw an earlier post before Fields was injured. DJ Moore was on pace for 1800+ YDs and 17 TDs. Was a dream BUT he could still potentially break some Bears records this year.

He’s now on pace for close to 1300 yards and 9 TDs (I rounded up). Averages deflated due to Bagent. 1500 yards and 12 TDs is not impossible with Justin Fields.

The only WRs to break 1500 yards for the Bears are 2012 Brandon Marshall(11 TDs), 2013 Alshon Jeffrey(7 TDs) and 1999 Marcus Robinson(9 TDs).

1970 Dick Gordon and 1947 Ken Kavanaugh hold the single season Bears TD record at 13.

DJ Fucking Moore.

I’m thankful for all of you, even the ones with absolutely terrible opinions. I’m thankful you guys are here suffering with me. I’m thankful I’m not the only one who gags every time Flus opens his mouth and tries to form complete, competent sentences. I’m thankful that we can drink Kool-Aid all the time and throw chairs sometimes. I’m somehow thankful that we’re Bear fans and we’re Bear fans together. I hope you all have a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving. Here’s to hoping the Lions non-consensually assault the Packers while we all overindulge today. BOOTY UP AND BEAR DOWN!!

Casual fan here. Is there any glaring reason why we wouldn't consider keeping Flus as defensive coach and bring in a new HC and offensive HC? Heck maybe even keep Getsy. I feel like the play call isnt terrible ALL the time, just in important situations, where a strong, savvy, modern coach would make the best decision to win crucial situations.
