This dude got so much (unwarranted) hate early in the season, especially after his extension, but he’s done nothing but impress in his fourth year as a safety valve, blocker, and redzone threat.

Definitely one of Poles’ best moves as a GM so far, despite the earlier general consensus that we overspent on him among the fanbase. He could soon make a case for being a top 5 TE in the NFL, and he doesn’t get nearly enough recognition.

There’s a lot of dialogue here on how poorly Fields is progressing through reads. How he’s not seeing the play unfold & is missing wide open receivers.

My question for yall is, How is Fields supposed to improve upon seeing plays develop when 70% of the plays he sees developing are screen passes?! Practice makes perfect…how often has fields been given a chance to make these throws?

Let’s be real here. Year 1 we had Nagy putting Fields in an offense for Dalton halfway through the season. Toxic culture, awful O-Line and shit product on the field. Everyone knew the writing on the wall for staff the moment our season ended.

Year 2 Mooney was one of, if not the only receiver rostered who wasn’t cut by the team that drafted him. Fields couldn’t do it through the air (shocker) and made shit happen on the ground. We scored points. Everyone on planet earth agreed that he needs to show an ability to throw.

This year, our game plan is running screens. It has always been running screens. The preseason house calls everyone got excited about? Screens. My guess is training camp/practice are all screens too. How is a man supposed to improve on a skill he isn’t practicing?

I’m disappointed in what we’ve seen. I am also not sold on Justin being our QB, even if I am a fan of him the person. What I know for sure is that Justin is not anywhere near the problem in Chicago. Is he the answer? That’s a different question but the blame isn’t his to shoulder.

Only posting this because I see this discussion constantly on this sub

I sincerely believe that the bears organization makes QB's worse. There is simply something about their internal philosophy at Halas Hall that disrupts growth of would be great players.

I am not a football expert, just calling it like I see it. For example, had Patrick Mahomes come to Chicago, I genuinely believe he would be significantly less respected today - and it would be almost entirely the fault of the Chicago bears organization. (Or disorganization, rather)

If you believe that basic concept, then it honestly doesn't matter who we draft. (Or don't) It isn't even a debate really, we have the worst (the NFL worst) history of QB's in Chicago. The bears used 35 starting quarterbacks during the Farve/Rodgers era....

Our legacy is literally drafting a new QB every 3 years, ruining his career, and taking a desperate shot in the dark in hopes for a different result using the same methods. This has been happening for decades

Honestly, if I were a QB getting drafted by the Bears, it would feel like a death sentence.

Every new QB we draft, I see people question "Are the Bears hurting his devolvement?" Bro of course we are - that seems to be the ONE thing the McCaskeys are good at.

So, seriously - does it matter AT ALL who we draft or don't? Why are we even talking about it anymore? There is an illness that runs so deep within the bears organization that I truly do not think even the best QB would make a difference.

Don't think I've ever been so frustrated after a win before

Poles needs to commit these names to memory like Arya Stark and recite them back to himself if the thought of keeping this coaching staff for one more season ever crosses his mind.

I like Justin Fields the person and the leader but I don't know if he can ever be a great QB. My question is, is he good enough?

Yes, we can draft another QB with pick 1 or 4 (or whatever) but we can get a boatload of picks by trading down from #1. Most highly drafted QBs don't turn into great NFL QBs and our franchise sucks at developing them.

As the defense is playing well, the OLine looks solid, can we go forward and compete with JF1?

Personally, I think if we boot Getsy and get an OC who actually builds a plan around Fields, we may be able to compete by investing in OL, DL and WR.

And if we win 2-3 more games, we might be stuck with the entire front office for next year anyway.

Somebody said something along the lines of “Jaquan Brisker dies at least once a game” and it makes me laugh so hard. The best part is, I read that comment during a game and right after I read it, he was dead on the field.

I just picture Brisker laying on the ground like a family guy character after they fall down.

haven’t been able to make it out to a game this year, and the cleveland game might be my only shot. hard to book hotels/make travel plans without knowing when the game is.

could this be flexed into the saturday night slot and that’s why?

thanks and 🐻⬇️

Feels like that game didn’t give any clarity for JF1 and the next 5 games will be a continuous evaluation.

Woah!! Can you imagine a post about not the QB or Draft??? Let’s give it a try.

Does anyone get shades of Matt Forte when they watch Roschon play. He seems to glide and change direction on a dime which is so, so impressive with his frame and power. Both him and Matt Forte had that 6+ foot tall 220+ lbs frame that is shifty as hell and elusive in the pass game. Matt was miles ahead of his time for what he offered the game. He would be on every coaches Christmas wishlist if we was playing in this modern game (call him a Kyle Shanahan wet dream).

I know RJ has a lot to prove - with such a crowded running back room. He is definitely a guy that I am most excited to see get more and more work volume…but it’s awesome to see a guy with that much power and raw athleticism in the backfield again.

Monty was awesome…but he seemed to do his damage between the tackles running north and south. That is the kind of player that you see the hits catch up to. Seems Roschon has the skill sets (if developed properly) to be a long term piece for the RB room - more importantly he has the skills to be a modern day 3 down back.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit to see Getsy roll with his fellow POS buddy from GB over an effective Feeny.
