I can't decide whether to join the gorilla communes or the undersea New York rat network

Killer whale raiders or bust

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 22 points 2 years ago

Ah yes, the perpetual torment of the anarcho-communist

Liberals don't want you to know about the continent-sized man in the ocean and his similarly scaled cutoff jorts.

I like that a good portion of the midwest is still bland enough to not warrant a name or inhabitants corn-man-khrush

[–] TerminalEncounter@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Itd be so funny if nothing even changed there, they still drive f150s and blame Obama for their taxes and still farm soy but call the soy latte drinkers effeminate for eating their product lol, meanwhile they never get raided cause it's the Midwest what are they gonna have

[–] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

The least believable episode of Star Trek: Discovery was when the Gorn raided a Federation settlement purposely modeled after a small town in the 21st century American midwest.

This includes the "fairy tale holodeck" and "Klingon K-pop" episodes.

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

bio-mutant cyborg raiders destroy a nearby town in the year 3000

"This is what you get in Obama's America"

[–] sloth@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

Monster Lake is solely responsible for that.

Ever read Kamandi Challenge? It was a cool concept (every writer after the first had to resolve a cliffhanger and create one of their own) but it wasn't well executed

[–] spacecadet@lemm.ee 11 points 2 years ago

THIS IS KAMLA’S AMERICA SHEEPLE!!! WAKE UP!!!

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What is with this era of illustrators and this really awkward gun pose. It pops up quite frequently. Like the megaman box art

Huh, posadists were right that animals would achieve communism after the nuclear apocalypse, but they were wrong about which animals it would be monke-return

[–] ChrisLicht@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago

Kamandi is posed like he’s Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein.

The lack of nipple is also disturbing.

He looks a lot like Rahan, the lead character of a French comic which, I kid you not, was first published in a magazine affiliated with a communist newspaper. (I wanted to embed the image from this article, but it's not currently possible so here's the link to it instead: https://www.francetvinfo.fr/culture/bd/rahan-le-fils-des-ages-farouches-a-45-ans_3308997.html )

[–] GarbageShoot@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I love how this reads like it is poorly translated from Japanese, like "Strange Fire Area". Imagine having such a lack of interest in writing while making a story that you would name a region that.

[–] emizeko@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

that's to distinguish it from the adjacent Normal Fire Area
